Overview

Interior
You can choose between 7 and 8 seat configurations. The eight seater model has two individual seats for the front and the centre and rear seats are of the bench variety. The 7 seater model has bench configurations for both the centre and back row. The centre bench is designed to fold 60/40, while the rear bench tips forwards to provide additional luggage space when required.

Under the hood
The Estima is powered by a 2.4 litre VVT-I engine that boasts of excellent fuel efficiency of 11km/l despite its large size. The improved output, 2.4 liter, four cylinder 2AZ-FE engine employs a Super CVT-i transmission (with six speed Sports Sequential Shiftmatic) to eliminate shift shock and provide the feeling of pleasure associated with manual transmissions. Luxury features includes power sliding doors that opens at the touch of a button and rear air-conditioning. A smart key system that allows entry and engine start without fishing the key out of the pockets is employed for maximum convenience.

Safety
Both active and passive safety has been given priority in the Estima. Anti-lock brakes with electronic force distribution is standard across the range. A new platform was developed to provide smooth driving, which features MacPherson struts in the front and a torsion beam in the rear. A complex frame structure dissipates the force over a wide area in collision situations, so as to provide the best possible protection to the passengers. Side impact beams, seat belt force limiters and pretensioners and dual front airbags are all part of the impressive passive safety programme.
